I think he is about 14 years old in this picture, at the very end of his competitive career. I saw him in 1995 when I visited, when he won one of the classes at the Yugoslav showjumping championships (for young horses). He also won Serbian dressage championship a few years later with the girl in the picture. He has since been sold to a guy who just loves him and rides him for pleasure.
Must be nice for you to get a follow up. How did you get the picture? Did you stay in touch with someone who could send it to you?
An old friend from the stables sent it to me last night. I first got it a few years ago, from the girl in the picture. I discovered an online forum where Belgrade riders used to hang out and discuss horses, people, gossip, competition etc. - a great way to keep up with the horse world there. So, one day I logged on and introduced myself as a person who raised Kelfi and asked if anyone knew where he was and if he was still alive. So, they all responded and told me his whole life history and I got a few pictures of him, including this one. Then, when my computer crashed, I lost everything so it was nice to get this one again.
His name means Im having a great time.
